Call or go to your local courthouse and make sure this is legit. NEVER IGNORE A SUMMONS, CHECK IT OUT. ANSWER IT. Sounds like they are looking for a judgement by default, which is what will happen if you don't follow up on this.
If you are within SOL, then validation is a good idea, but do it at the courthouse......you don't remember this debt, not sure it is yours, and the balance is way too high to be your debt. Have a senior moment, even if you are just 20!!
