Hi, no they haven't given up completely. Your accounts will be sold to 3rd party CAs. Scum bag trolls. Sounds like you have a lot of debt, your credit is already trashed. You can either continue to lay law. Don't apply for credit of anykind. Don't let them get updated info.on you. They are counting on the fact that your circumstance will change for the better, and they probably will. We always advise people to NEVER TALK TO CAs. They lie, threaten and work on your emotions. Don't let them harass you. The phone is their tool (if they get your number, hope is it unlisted) take it away from them. I actually put my phone on fax until things got settled down. Let the machine pick up, watch caller ID. Your other option is to file bk. At this point, the CAs probably can not validate (prove it is your debt) and you may be close to the SOL. When was the last time you paid the original creditor on these accounts before they became deliquent? That started the SOL and the SOL in Calif. is 4 years. That date can not be changed regardless of CAs say. So, bottom line is IGNORE CAs if they call or send mail to you. DON'T APPLY FOR ANY CREDIT. Don't let them get any updated info. Good Luck
