Just letting it be known that there is yet another person being harrassed by this computer. My story is as follows... Just a couple nights ago, I get a call from one of their agents claiming to be a lawyer(despite his poor english and street mobster slang). The conversation starts "Mr. , I got some bad news. You have a hot check from 1999, and if you don't pay by noon tommorow you will be criminal prosecuted with fraud and will go to jail." This scares the hell out of me as I am a single dad with a 2 year old baby girl at home. I do remember a bad check from way back then, but I had thought that my wife at the time had taken care of it, and it did seem wierd to me that all of the sudden I am informed that it hasn't been taken care of and am expected to pay by 12noon the next day(specially since the call was at about 5pm PST) I do not have the money! I let this guy know and assure him that I will pay him in full in 2 weeks when I can get my paycheck. He tells mes no, says I have till 12noon, and hangs up on me. So my mother decides to step in and says she'll pay it for me, and then I can pay her back. She also says to make sure and get a copy of the check to make sure it's not some sort of scam as the bad check that I had remembered from before wasn't written by me, but by my wife who is now my x-wife. So I call the guy back but nothing but a run around for an hour or so, and then finally I am told that he is out of the office. So I call the next day and talk to him. I let him know that I can pay in full in a single day, but I do want a copy of the check so that I can verify their claims. The guy refuses insisting that i am "playing games with him"! at this point I am really feeling like it is a scam, because: 1. If they have a bad check of mine, and i'm willing to pay in full with only a days notice, it is a reasonable request to see a copy of the check to make sure it's legit! If they had the check that they claim they have then they wouldn't have a problem with faxing, emailing me a copy of it with the promise of prompt payment! 2. The guy just didn't sound like a lawyer! He sounded more like a brooklyn cop, or some tuff guy gangster. 3. When my father talked to him, he told him that "your son is writing hot checks all over town!" If i'm not mistaken, slandering to family and friends over a debt is against the law, thus it seemed like they weren't playing by the book. 4. The guy told me at least 10 times, more times than i can count, that he's "going to be honest with me" My experience, is that when someone is overly stating their honesty, it's because they are lying. So of course I look up "JBC legal" on the internet and the first things i see is "ripoff, scam, criminals, extortion" and of course it made me laugh out loud haha Mabye i shouldn't say this next thing, but I will.. After looking that up, I contacted my local FBI office and let them know what happened. They seemed guinenly interested and had me fax over to them a bunch of information about these JBC characters. NOTE: I only say that part because I assume that if the FBI wanted me to be quite about it, they would've told me so, which they didn't. Some questions I have about JBC: Are they really trademarked "Justa Buncha Criminals" based on an offshore area? Is there really something being done about these clowns? I hear of lawsuits and investigations. Do they really threaten criminal action? Although I had them threaten me with criminal prosecution and jail, They didn't tell me that they were going to break my thumbs or anything like that. Are they really NOT lawyers? I'm in california, if they sue me in hopes of getting a default judgement, will it mean that I have to fly to new york in order to defend myself? P.S. I think the term "leech" is better than trolls as leeches live by sucking the life out of others just like these JBC people. Just my opinion. Or mabye Vampire hehe
