Today, I received a certified letter from the Civil Process Division stating an execution of income. The letter also continued with a copy of a court judgement from 1993!! The debt, was from a hospital bill( the hospital has since closed). At the time I was treated I was 19yrs old. I never received a letter or bill about this judgement until now( I have moved around quite a bit, but always changed my mailing address). I had recently opened a mortgage and this debt was never listed in my credit history. The court order has my maiden name on it and the incorrect ss#, it states that I must pay 10% of my gross wages until the judgement amount and interest from 1997, along with an execution fee, sheriff's poundage and sheriff's levy. If I fail to do so my employer(which close but incorrect) may withold my wages. I live in New York. Isn't 11yrs beyond the statute of limitations?
