direct merchants charged off to MRS ca

62 yr old female owns nothing. credit troubles has made arrangements directly with all creditors except one.company MRS bought from direct merchants.has been sending min payment to direct merchants still and they have been forwarding it to ca. but the ca wont take my mothers phone calls to set up a plan of payment just keep threatiening court action and saying that she is avoiding their calls but when she calls she never gets to speak to anyone. and so on.should she continue sending the payments as is or what could she do
