Tell your friend to send the certified letter I mentioned in the last post. Tell him to get everything in writing from now on.

If 'B' doesn't have anything in writing that says he worked on your friends truck, then it's going to be hard for him to send it to a CA. He'll have to take it to small claims court if he wants it that bad. That's probably why he sent the Certified letter (it's a prerequisite to Small Claims).

If a CA does call:
1. Tell your friend to let them know that "no service was ever performed" and that there is no debt to collect. He can even use the term "Fraudulent" with regards to the charge, but not towards the CA, they are only doing their pathetic, low-paying job.
2. He should send a certified letter to the CA asking for validation of the debt. There is no contract with his signature so they cannot produce this.

This is just another example over what some people will do over $300. If I were you I wouldn't get involved much or give it much more thought - unless dead bodies start popping up.
