Feeling obligated to pay ones debts and being able to are two completely different things. I would like nothing better than to be able and pay my debts as I'm sure that most of the other people on this forum feel. But sometimes circumstances prevent us from doing what we feel obligated to do. Just out of curiosity...what is it that you would have me to sell to pay my bill? My kids bed? My car that I take them to the doctor in? Our clothing? Since that is all I have what would you recommend? Should I forgo feeding them and pay you? Or maybe you prefer that they do not have their medicine? Since you are the wise and intelligent one and all of us are idiots then why don't you tell us how to make it work. Since you are all knowing perhaps you could open the worlds first consumer credit counseling service that actually worked!
If you don't get anything else out of today's conversation....get this.....SOME THINGS ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL. Bad things happen to good, moral, law abiding, INTELLIGENT people. Just because we cannot pay our bills does not make us less of a person than you. Someday after you have hit hard times you will understand this. Don't be so arrogant to think that it won't happen to you. Because it can.
You said that you have money put back in case of an emergency. What if you loose your wonderful job and then you get cancer and you are trying to pay for your chemo out of your un-employment check and your insurance is cancelled because you don't have your job. How long could you survive. Would you pay the arrogant little credit card bill collector or would you go get your chemo? As I said before don't judge! It may come back to bite you on the butt!
