Satisfied judgment collection call???

Like many people, I got in over my head with credit cards in my early and mid twenties. I thought that I had all of them paid off in 1998, but in 2001, I found out that I still owed on one card for approximately $2500. After not opening the letters or answering the phone calls from the attorney's office that was collecting the debt, I received a letter that they were sueing me for the amount owed. I ignored that also. In the end, I had a judgment against me for just over $1900. I did what I should have done all along and paid the amount I owed immediately upon receiving the notice of the judgment.

In 2002, I got a copy of my credit report that shows the satisfied judgment and so I didn't think anymore about it. I figured I would just have to wait out the seven years for credit to be good again. Since all of this has happened, I have gotten married, bought a house (in my husband's name only, due to my bad credit), recently became pregnant and quit my job. I was not expecting the phone call that I got this morning... An attorney's office called to say that they have been hired to collect on my credit card debt. They would like me to pay the $2500 that I owe. I was completely blown away! So much so that I don't remember the name of the office that called me or if they addressed me using my maiden or married last name. I told them that the debt had been paid off, but I was so confused and overwhelmed by the call that I just told him not to call me again and I hung up.

Is it possible that someone can try to collect on a debt that has been "satisfied"? According to my documents, the judgment was brought against me by Creditrust Corporation, not in the name of the first law office that contacted me 3 years ago. I also found out that Creditrust was going through bankruptcy at the time that I paid my debt to them. Is it possible that my name is still attached to this debt and is floating around out there, being bought by collectors? They said the debt was owed on an AT&T Universal MasterCard and that the last activity was in 1998. There is not an AT&T card listed on my credit report and I can't think of where else this amount could be coming from. The only other major credit cards I had were a Discover and Visa that were paid off in 1998.

Please tell me what you think. I thought that I had put all of this past stuff behind me and it frightens me to think that it could be coming back to haunt me some more. I don't have a job, so they can't come after me financially, but I am worried about the emotional toll it could have on me if I have to deal with this all over again.
