If you are getting a 1099C from Citi, that means they are "forgiving" the debt, which means NO collection agency can have ANY claim against you.

If you are lucky, perhaps some of your other creditors will do the same.

Opt out from your credit reports, do not talk to ANY CA, get an answering machine to answer all your calls.

Save your $$- in Tx you do not NEED to file BK unless your car is worth a WHOLE LOT of $$.(I think the Tx exemption is $2,500-- and that is WHOLESALE value)

Your home is exempt, when you get a job your pay is exempt, as Tx has no garnishments. If Citi is writing you off with a 1099, there is absolutely,(in my opinion) NO WAY that anyone is going to file suit against you.
