Identity Theft is the Fastest-Growing Crime in America

President George W. Bush calls it:'One of the most harmful abuses of personal information.'

US Treasury Secretary John Snow calls it:'The greatest threat to consumers today.'

Assistant Treasury Secretary Wayne Abernathy says:'It is hard to think of another crime that has touched such a large portion of Americans.'

And I say, BULL!

I?ll bet you a dollar against a donut hole that none of these three government agents can name even one American in the past fifty years that has had his or her identity stolen from them.

Now, before you jump to the conclusion that I?m a crazy wacko and you stop reading, lets ?identify? some terms. It?s important that we both know what we are discussing.

Just what is your identity? It?s so simple. It?s right there in front of your face. Get up and go look in a mirror. What do you see? You see you. That, my dear friend, is your identity. Have you had it stolen lately?

The only way someone can steal another?s identity is to kidnap them or kill them then take their place in life. What are the chances? Unless you have an identical twin and your husband or wife is not real happy with you, the chances of someone pulling off an identity theft are slim to none. Unless, you take the identity of someone who has already passed on. Assuming you can steal from the dead.

So what is it that these government agents are so afraid of. Why do they have the media trying to stir up such a frenzy over ?identity theft??

Look at what they are wanting you to protect. ?Your? social security account. ?Your? credit cards. ?Your? driver license. ?Your? birth certificate. ?Your? credit report.

If these things are ?yours,? why do they care?

How do you tell if something is yours? Well, if you actually own something you have the God given right to do with it what ever you choose. No one may take it from you with out due process. See the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution for the United States of America and similar clauses in all State constitutions.

According to Bouvier?s 1856 Law Dictionary: ?OWNER, property. The owner is he who has dominion of a thing real or personal, corporeal or incorporeal, which he has a right to enjoy and to do with as he pleases, even to spoil or destroy it,....?

Is the Social Security Card yours? If you have a Social Security Card, get it out. On the front it will have a number. That is a Social Security Account Number. On the back it will have a few statements. I?m not completely sure what the new ones say. The one I had was issued in the early 60's and I returned it many years ago. But, it should have a statement similar to: ?This card is the property of the Social Security Administration.? Which means, the account number on the other side, the account it represents, are all the money paid into that account, are the property of the Social Security Administration.

I?ll bet you thought that was your number, and your card, and your account, didn?t you? If it was, you would be able to cancel it at any time without question, withdraw money at any time. Try it, see what happens.

Read your credit card agreements. The cards belong to the bank. They are issued for your use, as long as you pay for that privilege, but ownership remains with the bank.

Your drivers license. It belongs to the state. They can cancel, suspend, or revoke it at any time for any or no reason. They have complete dominion over it.

Same for your license plates. They belong to the state. You pay a yearly rent for their use.

Credit reports. If they were yours, you could demand they be changed to reflect what you want, not what the banks or other creditors want. They belong to the credit bureaus.

So, exactly what is it that is being stolen?

It is the government?s identity of you.

Without all of these ?identity? items, the government wouldn?t be able to keep track of you or control you. It all starts with a birth certificate which attaches to a specific Social Security Account Number which attaches to all the other identity items. The Social Security Account Number assigned to your birth certificate is your national ID. If you doubt this, try getting a job without one. Try getting a bank account without one. Try getting a drivers license without one. Try doing anything in our government controlled country without one.

It is extremely important to the government that you believe these identity items are critical and absolutely necessary for your success and happiness, your very existence. If you don?t or won?t believe, they become worthless.

To be numbered or not to be numbered, that is the question.
