Please do not do anything like what you have suggested. Catballou is right ITS ONLY MONEY. Do not lose perspective on that.
There will be an onslaught of calls for this month due to potential tax returns. Stay busy and away from the phone and don't leave the answering machine on.
Unplug the dam phone if you have to but please do not do anything foolish. I am sure your family loves you tremendously and your loss would be more devastating than money could ever replace.

You will get through this time has a wonder way of fixing everything.
