It means you are being sued and you will have to file one of these with the court or you will lose by default. A good example from our friends from experian is below: http://www.proselitigant.net/ex-answer.html Oh and yes there are ways to fight lawsuits from creditors and CA's such as trying to charge usurious interest rates, violations of the TILA, and various other tools such as discovery and interogatories. Basically you gotta learn how to fight like a lawyer or else your gonna be roadkill. I suggest you purchase the following book "Represent Yourself in Court: How to Prepare & Try a Winning Case" from nolo press. Have them overnight it since time is of the essence. http://www.nolo.com/lawstore/products/product.cfm/ObjectID/3731D4E8-C4D8-4A98-88680150520FAEDB Remember if you lose at trial, they get to garnish your wages and seize your bank accounts. Lastly check why chat's website to see if the lawsuit is time barred. That is the easiest way to get one tossed. http://community-2.webtv.net/YChallenge/storage/page11.html http://community-2.webtv.net/YCHANGE/STORAGE/page16.html http://community-2.webtv.net/YCHANGE/STORAGE/page2.html Oh yeah, there are some very knowledgable folks on www.creditnet.com that can help guide you thru every step of the process. Good luck!!!
