i am being hounded

Back in 1989, i had a credit card with first fidelity, which in turn has been bought over the years by various institutions. Long story short, i am not being hounded by a collector who has called my job, my home, my landlord in an attempt to collect this debt. I have been paying them 75 a week, but the collector is still not satisfied, so i stopped paying because he was rude to the people in my office and also to my landlord. now he is telling me that i signed a non- arbitration agreement when i got the card and they are going to contact my boss about my debt? is this legal and if not, what can i do? thanks so much!
