He is from Georgia. He is authorized user. The cards are all in his wife name. The second finance on his house will depend on whose name the financing was in and whether or not they can get to the equity of it or force the sale of the house. His wife does not work now as she stays home and takes care of sick child. Ongoing medical bills which are still accruing. I agree he needs to see a lawyer.
