I suggest you let your mother and your stepfather work out their own problems.

You seem to be very young, or possibly just a victim of the public school system.

Your mother should get some budget counseling and level with your stepfather about her problems.He may or may not be responsible for some of her debts depending on HOW she signed up for the credit, what State they are in, the condiion of their joint accounts etc.etc.
