Hi,
My Husband has a MBNA account that is 60 days past due. The balance is 15,000. We cannot afford to continue to make this payment and are thinking of letting them write this off and then trying to settle later. My question is this...He has a job where his wages are garnishable and he has a checking account. How long will it be before they start legal action? Do they sell these accounts to collectors or do they do in house legal collections. We are trying to put this off for a while until we get the money to settle with them but we cannot afford to have his wages garnished. This is not a credit card but an unsecured line of credit.
