I just settled an account with MBNA. They actually gave me a good settlement. After 90 days, if no payment is made, it gets written off and it goes to collections. I just kept an open line with them and it worked out. Dealing with MBNA was way better than dealing with Sherman Acquisitions, like I am now.

At least it is an unsecured loan.
