Since you are in Texas, your home would be protected in bk. Since there are two minor children involved, any chance you can keep the house? Problem is the settlement money in one lump sum might be a problem in bk. I would STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU SPEAK WITH A BK ATTORNEY AS WELL AS THE DIVORCE ATTORNEY about the situation. Good Luck
