(I live in CA (wage garnishment state), last paid OC 1 year ago, debt charged off in Sep 2003, I requested validation and have received signed application and several years worth of copies of statements)

I recently received a special "tax season" offer from a CA stating that they could settle the debt for less than full amount, due to it being "tax season". They didn't offer a specific amount; they just said to contact office to make arrangements to settle within client's criteria. It's a large debt and I don't think they would accept what I could afford to pay, LOL. This came from a CA/OC who have a reputation for suing.

I think this might just be an attempt to glean whatever personal info they can from me and/or determine if I'm a good candidate for suing. They only have a mailing address for me and I have a really bad credit report (no assets, no house, no current employment, lots of charge offs, tax liens, etc.) I'm tempted to try to make arrangements, but think this could only work against me.

Any suggestions? I'm waiting for this to go past SOL in another 3 years.
