Never talk to a CA on the phone. The toll is their weapon, take it away from them. Do everything in writing, mail registered/return receipt. Make them validate. They can not proceed with collection activity until they validate. If they do,they are in violation of FDCPA. http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcrafrd.html Dispute with the Credit Bureau. http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcrafrd.html http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcraredisp.html You don't need to pay anyone to do this for you. You can do it yourself. If this is the only blemish on your credit report, you should be able to find a loan. NEVER TELL A CA THAT YOU ARE MORTGAGE SHOPPPING. CAs lie, and threaten. They are trianed to work on your emotions. Anything to make you pay. If you don't talk to them, they can't harass you. If you scroll down a little there is some info on mortgages here from another poster. Good Luck.
