I have approx 63,000 in credit card debt owed to the following banks. Citibank, MBNA, Bank One and Discover Card, Chase. I origionally contacted a debt settlement company and started using their services before I really looked into all the options. I started using the debt settlement company 5 months ago and Discover and Bank One no longer call and have slowed the aging of the account on my credit report. It appears that I will be able to settle with the origional creditor for these 2 debts. But MBNA has closed my 2 accounts and they are with a CA. Citibank and Chase continue to do collection calls to were it appears the debt settlement company did not help in slowing the collection process. My questions are: 1. Should I settle with Discover and Bank One who are cooperating with me. 2. Let my MBNA , Citibank accounts go, use the cease and disist/validation letters to push of the CA until the SOL. 3. The Chase account has the smallest balance and I could keep current, should I keep this current inorder to have some credit for the future? Please help, your advise is appreciated.
