The problem with working with CAs is that MOST lie and deceive people and use various other types of tricks. A lot of CAs won't accept affordable payment arrangements proposed by the debtor. It seems like one has a higher likelierhood of being sued if you give the CA personal info (home address, employment, bank info) and make payments in an amount that they don't want (the payments indicate that you're probably working, which could be a problem in a wage-garnishment state). CA's don't want to hear that it's going to take five years to pay the debut in full. So, they get impatient and sue, which they tend to do if they feel like they can get something out of you (thus, the reason to withhold as much information as possible from them). I would have no problem talkng to CA's if I knew they couldn't sue, would accept my payment terms, and wouldn't play tricks and try to deceive me, but that isn't the world we live in. The issue of paying the CA isn't a moral issue but one of basic survival.
