I had a credit card for $400 from Chase that was turned over to Midland Credit Management for collection. The debt was now $1500. I began making payments of $40 per month after a rep called and talked to me. He told me there was no interest accruing on the account. I paid for 18 months when I recieved a letter from an attorney stating I owed $1500. Midland Credit had stopped taking the payments from my account because I wasn't paying enough. I responded disputing the amount and requesting documentation. They responded with a settlement offer, I responded still disputing the amount. I'm now going to court today. Any advise?
