I read this affidavit they sent me and it states that I owe this money and that the original debt was with citi and that they purchased it.It states that they now own the account and they have all rights including the right to institute this action. It shows them as the plaintiff and me as the defendent.This affidavit is dated 8/03. I have not been able to speak with anyone at the court clerks office yet.I also got a copy of my credit report and it shows citi charge off 5/99(last pyt I made was 11/98)then like its a different account it shows assett acc. date of 3/03. Can they do this????That makes it show against me twice( they have given it a different acct.# and $ amount also so it looks like a different account).I think it looks like they have reaged this account.Thank you to all that has helped with info. so far.
