Keep trying with the court - it important to make sure that you stated your defenses correctly. THe affodavit is something they do with every acct - It will be from some branch manager stating that he or she has personal knowledge of the acct, etc - this is not proper validation...

Yes the item can show up twice on your report. Technically one is from the original creditor and should read with bals of zero, the other is the collection TL detailing the collection acct.

Asset is notorious for re-aging accts, but depending on the type of report and from who it may show something different. Did you get an 'official' credit report from a CRA directly? If so, there should be a report number or confirm number (the 3-1 deals or third party providers don't provide this). If so, call the CRA and just ask them when the entry will drop off your report. if its more than 7 years from your CO date or date of last payment, then it likely been re-aged. If its between the 2 dates, you should be ok in regard to reaging.

Again, I would post on Creditboards.com if you want more insite - I keep checking back on your thread, but others may not be seeing this because it doesn't autmatically move to the top when a response is made. that site is anonymous (you decide how much info you want to put) and free!!
