Cambece

This quote is taken directly from the Better Business Bureau website.

“Cambece Law firm serves as a collection agency. They are a franchise of Collect America, LLC. The company was established in 1996 in Massachusetts. They employ 60 people. Mr. J. Anthony Cambece is the owner.”

They are a COLLECTION AGENCY masquerading as a law office. Cambece is only licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. He can NOT sue anyone in any other state. He does not sue anyone anywhere although he’ll threaten to sue you anywhere in the world.

Cambece is a Collect America CACV rent-a-lawyer. This means that MBNA looked at your account and figured there was no way you would ever pay. Their litigation department figured there was no way to get any money by suing you. So they flushed your account out the door to the highest bidder which is Collect America CACV paying 10 cents on the dollar. Yes, that is correct, ten cents on the dollar for your account right at charge-off before ever going to a single collection agency. A dime on the dollar at charge-off is more than MBNA figured they could ever get out of you.

Collect America has dozens of collection agency franchises scattered across the country with a figurehead attorney on the nameplate. The collectors call acting like they still represent MBNA or other Original Creditors and pepper their conversations with “threats” that the attorney is preparing the paperwork immediately to file a lawsuit. Cambece is a Massachusetts lawyer who can’t sue anyone outside of Massachusetts. His collectors would have you believe he sues people from Alaska to Florida and is getting ready to sue you. He sues no one. (Remember MBNA sold your account for 10 cents on the dollar, so they obviously didn’t think they would collect by suing you)

Anyway, what you choose to do is up to you. You can ignore them (they don’t sue) or you can pay them for something they paid 10 cents on the dollar for. What you can’t do is ever make a settlement with MBNA because they gave up on you right at charge off. It is now impossible for you to make “good” on this debt. All you would do by paying Cambece is line his fat wallet because that is where every single penny you pay right now would go—MBNA gets NOTHING.
