Simple answer: it's what they do. From the abundance of the heart bleats their poxy mouth.

As with corporate honchos, unctuous politicians, and psychopathic types in general, being mean is just a practiced tactic designed to upset the mark's emotions, throw them off balance and disrupt cognitive function, degrading judgement thus rendering them easier to manipulate.

Use the medical model. Try to detach from the forced snarlings of these mongos. Use an old actor's technique. When they call, picture in your mind what they would look like with big fat bunny teeth, drool slopping from the corner of their crooked pie-holes, snappily dressed in sleeveless dingy t-shirt and Depends (r). Picture them hopping about their cubbyhole mens' room orifice while they chatter at you. Pretty soon you'll be laughing and much to their dismay.

In other words, you'll have an accurate picture of a 'collections professional'.

Accurately,

Keyser Soze
