What Do They Check?

If you are totally disabled now and on SS, but your credit report shows old employment info, do the creditors do any further checking to verify when deciding whether or not to file suit? Should this info be updated and, if so, how could it be done other than applying for new credit? Have taken all the other precautions advised.
