garnishing bank accounts

if we have a bank account in our name and our son's name, can that account be garnished for my debt, my husband's debt or for our debt (husband and mine)? also I know if I get ssdi direct deposit that can't be garnished if in separate account, but what about ssdi lump sum backpay?? can that be garnished? also if no wage garnishment allowed in state of NC, and my husband has direct deposit, in an account with just that going in, is it also free of garnishment. thank you
