texas has a 4 yr statue of limitations. if u dont show tho they get a default judgement. which is stupid cause the judge should be able to toss any time barred suits. course they wont and dont. also a collection agent does NOT need to be licensed in texas..only put up a bond. a quick email to the sec of state will get u that answer. she answered me in like 4 hours. to be sued..it must be by a lawyer licensed to practice in texas. i too will have to do mine on my own cause i cant afford any lawyer. ur SOL is out tho..based on what u say, so when u prove that..u should win on ur judgement. they must use a lawyer here in texas..and ALWAYS answer and show up in court. good luck. as u know,,in texas u cant have ur wages garnished. they can freeze ur banking accounts tho. be careful there. u dont have to sign to be served anything either.
