I posted a message a couple of days ago about someone who had called my parents and my in-laws looking for me. I got a call today from this guy and found out who he is with....Creditors Interchange. It is in regard to my MBNA account ($11,000+ balance) that was charged off last week. I didn't really speak with him and didn't give him any information. I then checked Bud Hibb's web site and found this company on his list of worst collection agencies. OK, now what? This guy indicated that he represented a group of lawyers (Lake Cook Partners). Am I in immediate danger of being sued here or is this guy just trying to scare me by throwing around lawyer names? I really need to file BK, but as I've stated before, don't have the money yet. Any ideas on what action they are likely to take and how quickly? I'm hoping to get the bk filed in the next two months, but I'm afraid that they'll beat me to the punch and I'll end up having more stuff to clean up. Thanks for any insight.
