What state?
How old is the debt? When was the last payment? THe chargeoff on debt?

If it is past statute of limitations, and you can prove damages in that this company not only did not violate but also cost you a mortgage, you might be able to sue them. They should have validated. You need to see a consumer attorney at www.naca.net
