I would ignore them. Don't let them get updated information such as current employment. DON'T TALK TO THEM. There is a lot of psychology used in debt collection. They are trained to lie and threaten and use scare tactics. What state are you in and when was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent. Let the machine pick up, watch caller ID, whatever works for you. Now is the time to protect your assets, just in case.
