I know my accounts are not past the SOL in my state, and I've gotten a couple of decent settlement offers. If I had the money I'd probably pay up just to get some of these gooons off my back, but that's a moot point. Anyway, my question is, if they are offering settlements, is there a good likelihood that they don't have the validation, etc. that they would need to win in court? I've had good credit all my life but unfortunately due to life circumstances I no longer answer my phone unless I recognize the number and I'm afraid that every knock on my door is notice of a lawsuit.
