FCRA CH 605, Sec. A, SS 3, Says PAID liens have a limit of 7 years, (Ca may have diferent statutes) But unpaid state tax liens are FOREVER! Sorry, I dealt with Ca also a few years back when I moved from that state. I think my unpaid state tax were $150.00, but they flagged my report for $10,000 or something like that. That got my attention, and paid it. They may settle for a fraction of what he owes. He'll have to do something before a mortgage co will seriously look at him.
