I have an Amex account which was turned over to GC Services. They first contacted me on 1/29, demanding the entire amt due (19k after late fees and charges) within 4 hours. Fast forward to now. I have since been in contact with the CA multiple times. They have been asking me to see if I can take out a loan to cover half the balance, and then they would be willing to work out a payment plan. In the meantime, I've enrolled with a credit counseling agency..and they are in the process of sending a proposal and payment plan, along with payment to the original creditor. Can the original creditor agree to this plan and pull the account back from GC Services? GC Services already told me that they will not work with credit counseling. I have no propert, and just started working again after being unemployed for several months. GC Services has threatened wage garnishment, and sending me to 'Legal' several times if I'm unable to pay upfront. I want to pay this debt, but dont have the $ to pay half up front. What are my options? I've documented everything, so if this does goto court, I have proof, that I've offered a payment plan. What else can I do at this point? Thanks in advance.
