Account closed! Thanks to FTC

I've been reading these posts for 2 years now and have learned so much. 8 mos ago I started receiving the same harassing phone calls & letters from AlliedInterstate. I followed ALL the regular steps that are adviced everyday here on this forum. Validation, CRRR, kept notes, names, numbers etc.
After 4th request for validation I finally filed a complaint with the FTC and AG (both online) with detailed info. OK, long story short. Last week I received a letter from FTC with a copy of Allied's response to FTC's inquiry. Allied of course apologized for the "inconvenience" that they had put me through and have sent their agent (CA, making harrassing phone calls) to special training so that this kind of abuse will never happen again and finally after careful review of this $52,000 account, they were unable to validate and are now closing the account and removing it from my credit report. I just wanted to share this with everyone who is thinking of or has been adviced to file a complaint with the FTC/AG. Do it! If you know they are in the wrong by harrassing you in any way, get as much info from them (name, operator # etc.) and file a complaint. It costs nothing and IT SURE FEELS GOOD to know that you've fought back. Thanks again to all the regulars who help so many everyday and get nothing in return.
