Arbitration is different from court. Both sides meet with an arbitrator- who is supposed to be neutral- each side presents their case to the arbitrator- and then meets privately with the arbitrator to discuss the issues at hand.

Unlike mediation, which is not binding, this is binding and often can not be appealled. This is not a good move for anyone to take.

Many credit card companies and others are trying to make arbitration the only way to handle a dispute, depriving you of your day in court.

Read more on the board- I think both sides must agree and if they try to push this on you, you can say no and take it to court.
