You can get rid of it right away if you are refinancing, etc., but if you want to give them some pain, you can join a lawsuit I am looking into. Your credit will get fixed and you will make a little, I repeat, little money, maybe. Most states have a 4 year statute of limitations, and if they do not file a court action, they are out of luck. They can only report it to the Experians, etc for 7 years from the date of last activity. Re-aging is a serious legal violation. Give me the details and I will tell you what Scott on this board helped me with.
