court action over border?

You have to look at what is practical. First of all, having a Canadian Bank account can be a definite asset for you. If you can get yourself back in good standing with the bank, it would most definitely be a great advantage to you.
On the other hand, what you want to do might depend on what assets if any you might still have in Canada such as real estate or other property they can go after. If you have none, it's going to cost them a bundle of money to go after you here in the U.S. and a judgement against a "ghost" isn't going to get them much of anywhere.

: I owe about US$500 to a Canadian bank since a few months ago, and now I have moved to the US. Received a letter threatening "court action or referral to a Collection Agency". Do you think the amount is substantial for court action? Any suggestions are welcome!
