Do payments extend the statute of limitations?

Sure does. They are right. But why are you fooling with a collection agency in the first place?? You should send them packing. Not hard to do at all. And then take the proper steps to get their reports off your credit bureau files too.
That's what I do is teach people how to fix their own credit.
