Wrongful creditor harrassment

For the past year a bill that was paid by my insurance company has been repeatedly sent to my parents' home (that I have not resided in 5+ years). Every time I received a bill accusing me of delinquency, I contacted my insurance company and attempted to contact the laboratory that was billing me (speaking to someone was not an option.) The last time I spoke with my insurance company, the representative put me on hold while he called the lab to confirm that the account was paid in full. I just received a letter from a collection agency for the bill. I have finally recouped from damage to my credit caused by my ex-husband. Is this going to hurt my credit again? How do I deal with the collection agency in this matter?
