judgement payment

My son had lawsuits brought against him for aprox. $4500. He never showed up at the court dates, therefore I suspect the judgements went against him. Considering the worst case that they did go agaist him, what should I advise him now? He doesn't have all the money to pay them in full, but he is employed and he can make payments.
Doe anyone know where to start and what can I advise him to do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
