credit harrassment?

I owe a debt to a credit card, and I was hoping somebody could explain if the following that the collection agency has done of said is legal.
1. They call up to 8 times a day
2. Called to husband's old place of work and asked the employee who answered a lot of personal questions about us, and thus made the employee aware of our credit problems.
3. Constantly call him at his place of work.
3. Screamed at my husband to give her our checking account number.
4. Threatened to call my husband's payroll department and inform them of our credit problems.
5. Got personal by asking if we had children, that she felt sorry for them because we were thieves and had stolen that money.
