Why Chat: So, if they sued you in Maine, and you now live in California, and you are served in California, you are expected to fly across the country and show up?? The travel cost alone will kill you!! And, if you don't show up for court in Maine because you can't afford to travel across the country, they win a default judgment. Then, they get it domesticated in California and you garnish your wages. Is this scenario correct?
