Do you have non exempt assets?
Here is a link to bk exemptions and judgement exemptions. If you don't have the assets they probably won't sue. It is expensive to sue, and worthless if they can't collect. Also, if they do settle, they will most likely sell the balance to yet another CA and the whole thing will start over again. Lot of psychology in debt collection. The phone is their tool. Take it away from them. Any correspondence should be in writing, registered, return receipt. If you can negoiated a settlement, it should include some language that prevents them from selling the remainder of the debt. If they won't give you that, then there is absolutely no point in trying to settle. Good Luck
