Why Chat, please help. I read your website and I still don't know what to do, as the car in my situation was never repossessed and FMCC never sent me anything in the mail regarding their disposition. In June 1997 I opened an acct with FMC. I relocated from MI to SC a year later and in June 1999 the car was totalled in an uninsured accident. FMC never knew the car wasn't insured. I called them and told them that I could not pay because I had to get another car due to the accident. The debt went to a CA. I was paying a CA 400 a month until last year when I moved to TX. I checked my CR last month and the FMC entry showed - Charge Off - making payments. I disputed the Charge off and my CR now my EX status says the car was Repossessed in Jan 2004!! I NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE!! There was no car to Repo - it was totalled. How can they repo a car that was totalled and how can they change the date to 2004??? What do I need to do to get this fixed. I know the debt is valid, but it should be about 5 yrs old now and I want everything to be reported accurately. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
