What do I do. My wife settled two old sears accounts. We got an offer in writing. We paid as we agreed.

They are now reporting to the cra as 120 days past due with a balance due which is the difference between the settlement amount and the original balance. When I call in they have no record of a settlement being offered and the woman I spoke with is no longer there.

They tell me that I need to fax in a copy of the settlement. However they say that even when I do it will still report the balance.

Is this legal? Acceptable? Normal?

What do I do?
