When was the last time you paid the original credit before the account became deliquent? The attorneys are probably working for Midland. Protect your assets now. That would include any bank accounts, especially if you have ever paid on the original account with your current account. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection. Using the attorneys could be a scare tactic, but it could also mean that they will sue. If you are legally served, contact an attorney immediately. You still have a lot of rights. You can make them validate every charge and all interest. That is your legal right. If they sue, they will be looking for an easy judgement. If you show up and demand validation of all charges under your state statues, they will probably not be prepared. If you do not show up (or answer) they get a default judgement against you. www.naca.net
