Two separate things:

1) I had a car repossesed in January 1999 that I last made a payment on in November 1998. Later, in the fall of 1999, I was contacted by some collection agency about the amount owed after auction (the difference was upwards of about $8000). I worked out a payment plan that pretty much continued until early 2001. It was down to about $3500.

Then for some reason, contact was lost with the collection agency. Who knows, they may have went under. I don't even remember what the name of the company was. Either way -- I've recently started receiving letters from Sunrise Credit Services asking for the balance of the debt. Weird thing is they don't show up on my credit reports. The orginal car loan that resulted in a repo is on there. But there's no mention of the first agency I paid money to, as well as no mention of Sunrise Credit Services.

Why wouldn't they list themselves on my credit report?

2) In 1997 I worked a Bell Atlantic phone bill up to $1115 and got cut off. They contacted me for a while before the account was sent to a collection agency in early 1998 -- IC Systems is what it shows up as on my credit report. But the thing is, IC Systems has yet to contact me in the four years they've been on my CR. They've sent no letters, made no phone calls. They just sit there, a collection account making my report look bad.

What should I do, if anything? I don't want to contact IC Systems, that's for sure. Do I contact the CRA's?
